Hurricane Appeal

Hundreds of thousands of people have been affected by hurricanes that have devastated islands across the Caribbean.

On 8 November, Hurricane Paloma hit the Cayman Islands, causing serious flooding and other damage.

This follows Hurricanes Gustav, Hanna and Ike in September, which caused devastation across Haiti, Turks and Caicos Islands, Cuba, Jamaica and the Bahamas. Thousands of people lost their homes and livelihoods and are still struggling to recover from the disasters.

The Red Cross is currently providing life-saving food, clothing and shelter to thousands of vulnerable families, but there is still much more to be done to help people affected by all four hurricanes.
